Yesterday, my family & I went to Geylang bazaar to buy things for Hari Raya. I got a baju kurung from 2nd chance... The geylang area is brightly litted with colurful light displays along the road... there were many stalls from kuih to clothes to essential items such as lights & even... FOOD !!! =D The area around geylang, which include Tanjong Katong cplx, malay village,Joo Chiat & the field besides temporary Geylang Serai market experience a VERY HUGE crowd of people !!! I felt hot & sticky. But overall, I enjoyed myself coz I could see the spirit of malay community, shopping around likewise for the stall holder, who shouts around just to attract the customers & some even used microphone & the usual loud hailers to promote their items !!! =D. We went home around 11.30pm...
Today, I went to Ramadhan Bazaar at Blk 425, JW Ave 1. I queued for the famous Nasi Ambeng stall. I arrived at the queue at 1.20pm, found out to be in the 15th position !!! I only get to buy the rice 2 hrs later !!! People at the front buy so many packets !!! That's the reason why... But, luckily I managed to get 4 pkts of it. People behind me there were 20 of them, queing up too. I left there at around 3.20pm...
After that, went to photo shop to photocopy the Quran book for my sis...
Yeah,that's what I do today... =D

3rd Day of Semester 2
Day 3 of sem 2... I had first CRS session. First, introduce ourselves & then had a mini test, where this determines whether I'm going for reading programme or SA programme but most likely i'll go for reading programme coz my EL is weak... =D
Then, we had first MIP proper lecture on introduction to materials... This really reminds me of D & T... thermoplastics & thermosets !!! haha =D. Even though Mrs Leong is slow but i managed to catch up of what she said & I understand her lesson.
At 1pm, I had first GEM module session (ECH).... there were 40 of us, mostly from sch of MM,EEE & also from CLS too. I only know one person... she took the same SPDP programme as me but i did not managed to say hi coz i scared if she's the wrong person !!! In the end, i found out that it's really her... Nvr mind, i'll make more friends from the class. When I received the lecture notes, it's too wordy but i find it interesting... hopefully i can score 80% and above for this module.
After lesson, went to Health talk about SEX, AIDS & HIV @ SPCC (convention ctr) i find it boring coz i'm feeling tired since i'm fasting the whole day... The whole thing finished around 4.45pm...
Yeah, that's about it... tmr, first AEE proper lecture & first CD session, where we need to present a newspaper article that we choose... =D

2nd Day of Semester 2
It's the 2nd day of sem 2 & I had my first MIP session with Mrs Leong... Eng Chua was right. She's kinda slow but I've no choice but to accept her & i'll try to listen attentively in class. after I hear from her, I find MIP very interesting as what Eng Chua said to me. If I listen well enough, I can pass the module with a grade A... =D.
Then,we had APC practical briefing, where we need to master something rather impt, which is to pipette some vol of soln to the beaker. i had a hard time doing it since it's my first time i did that... After that, went to CPPA prac briefing by Mr Wong...
Yeah, that's about it. tmr, CRS & MIP lesson followed by GEMs (ECH)... I'm hoping that the CRS & ECH teachers are good !!! =D

Today, I went to Sultan Mosque to help out at sultan youth bazaar. Luckily I came. f not, there were less people mending the stall. I also came there to order caligraphy bookmarks for my family... Each costs $2. besides bookmarks, there were badges on sale @ $4/piece or $10 for 3 pieces. About 6pm plus, I depart from there & went to my grandmother's house for break fast with my relatives & cousins (mum side)
Yeah, that's aboit it. Tmr, i'm going there again to help... =D

It's Day 7 of the fasting month & now I'm bored at home, doing nothing but helping in household chores...
Nothing great or special happened this week. It's just that I registered for a GEM module last tues, which is everyday chemical hazards (CP009S). I signed up for this module coz i find this very interesting after i read the sypnosis. Furthermore, it's something that it's related to my course.
So, to add on to the modules that I'll take in S2:
Everyday Chemical Hazards(ECH)
Ever wondered what is triethyl citrate that you see on your bottle of deodorant spray? What about the "something-that-I-cannot-pronounce" chemical in your detergent? Or for that matter, in your drink? We are exposed to all types of chemicals in our daily life. Some of these chemicals, if used inappropriately, can bring harm to us. Therefore it is important to know the hazards associated with chemicals, and the proper way to protect yourself when handling them. Equally important is what to do should you or your colleague or family member inadvertently come into contact with excessive chemicals. This module will show you how to obtain all the information you need to know about a particular chemical, its hazards, general protective measures you can take, and emergency response you should adopt.
Yeah, that's about it... Next mon, back to sch !!! =D

Semester 2 modules
Here's what I'm going to expect in S2 modules:
Analytical & Physical Chemistry (APC)
Provides students with the fundamentals in Analytical and Physical Chemistry. Students will learn the basic concepts of moles, concentrations in different units, redox reactions and equilibrium. Students also acquire the basic practical skills to analyse a range of substances quantitatively through carrying out experiments using simple volumetric analytical procedures.
Applied Electricity & Electronics (AEE)
Aims to provide students with an understanding of the basic concepts in electricity and electronics, with emphasis in areas relevant to the chemical manufacturing and service industries. The design and applications of resistive networks, motors, transformers and power supply circuits are studied. Students also learn the importance of electrical safety in the workplace.
Materials in Practice (MIP)
Covers material properties and test methods. Students are also given broad-based knowledge on traditional materials like metals, ceramics, polymers and composites and their applications.
Chemical Process Principles A (CPPA)
Provides basic concepts of chemical engineering. Students will learn units and unit conversion, basic engineering measurements, and material balances with and without chemical reaction. In addition, students will visit production plant where they will gain an appreciation of various processes in the industries.
Critical Reasoning Skills (CRS)
Emphasisese the process of crafting a structured, coherent argument. Students learn to critically examine issues across disciplines, and apply various thinking strategies, interpret and analyse facts, evaluate arguments and opinions and arrive at a balanced viewpoint expressed in speech and writing.
Character Development (CD)
Besides these modules, I need to take 1 GEM module (General Elective Modules). the problem is there are 80 choices !!! SO, i really have no idea what I want to take... There's possiblity that I'm going to take 2 GEM instead of 1...
Yeah, that's about it... 18 sept, I need to register for my GEM modules... =D

Today, meet Rashid to go to Sultan Mosque to help his friend in O-level E.math... We sat at the conference room & teach Raqib, one of his friend. I find that he's really weak in the academic subjects such as English & Maths. But, I'm not sure whether he can make it or not coz he's left with 3 weeks b4 the actual thing... he can't even do the basic questions. I told him to practice topic by topic and formulae & then proceed to practice some past-yr exam papers.
After Zohor prayers, I stayed back for Sultan youth meeting... I just signed uop for this organisation, which had just started this week. i get a chance to meet new friends like Raqib, Muhaymin, Raihan,Salahuddin & Syafiee (sorry if I mispelled your names). The agenda that we discuss was the Ramadhan Bazaar & ifast camp. For bazaar, we r planning to sell bookmarks & badges. The bazaar is at Kandahar st ( near Malay Heritage Ctr or TWM). As for ifast camp, it is for non-muslims. When they join this camp, they get a chance to experience how is it like to fast during the Ramadhan... So far 30.50 places have confirmed !!! =D I hope that my non-muslim friends can support by joining this camp. It costs $10 & tentatively 21-22 sept... We finished our meeting at around 5pm...
After that, went to Zam Zam Restaurant (which is known for tasty briyani & Murtabak. this is where Sheikh & his friends hang out to eat... haha). I ate Chicken Briyani, which is damn nice. Eventhough it costs $4.50 if I'm not wrong, but it's worth it. We went home by train & I reached home ard 7.30pm...
Yeah, that's about it... =D

I find it ok, but i feel seoul garden is better coz it's worth it. When I think back, I know why we cant go to seoul gdn. It's because she needs to take care of her kids at home... No wonder =D. After eating, we play games like heart attack, bluf using poker cards. We watched Tv programmes too. I had an enjoyable time !!! Thanks to the organiser, Khat, Ben & HB.
Yeah, that's about it. Tmr, meet Rashid to help his friend in E.math @ Sultan mosque. Actually, I supposed to meet Zahid but he cant make it due to Silat competition... Btw, CLS Interation camp POSTPONED to 1st week of Sem 2 fri-sun morning due to unseen circumstances.... haiz. But, I can make it !!! =D

30th SPDP Programme - Public Speaking
Today is my last SPDP programme... The instructor i/c was Mrs Donna Daniels. There were 27 students in the class. 1st part was theory, where she explained some useful tips from first impression to pronounciation to speech & so on. I find it very useful for me as this skill is somehow related to my future when applying for job. After practical, we had a chance to speak in front of the class. everybody has to do a 1-min presentation on a given topic that was chosen by us. we picked a number between 1 -25... i pick the lucky number 7 !!! My topic was " what's my favourite hobby". I had fun with Mrs Daniels as she was good in her presentation. That makes the class a more enjoyable one... With that, I have enjoyed all 5 SPDP Programmes that I signed up for... I'm looking forward for next SPDP... =D
Yeah, that's about it. Tmr, i'm going out alone. Friday, math gathering @ Seoul gdn's Marina ^2. Sat, gonna meet Zahid to help in his chemistry & sun- next tues, CLS IC camp !!! I'm going to be busy for the next few days !!! =D Let me quote a phrase:
"Speech is power: To persuade, To convert, To compel" - by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Weekend Outings
Today, my family & I went to Singapore Zoo with my aunt & cousins. We went there by my dad's company van. We use my mum's company zoo pass. So, that means we went in for free !!! There are 12 of us in total. We get to see the animals, both old & new exhibits... From orang utans to giraffe to penguins to seals to polar bears & so on. As for animal shows, we went to wonders of the wild show, splash safari show & Elephants of Asia show. I really enjoyed it even though i watched it b4... In between, there are breaks, where we took some rest in the shelters. I ate egg sandwiches, snacks, etc. We went home at 5.45pm...
Yesterday, my family & I went to East Coast Park for the family outing. my mum ordered pizza, fried chicken. We brought our bicycles from home coz we are going cycling. I had fun there. The weather was so windy & i can smell the atmosphere filled with sea water. Our family also invited hidayah, my sis 's friend to the outing. We went home by my dad's company van at 11.15pm & reached home about 12 am plus...
